Job description: Bioinformatics & Bioanalysis Engineer
To strengthen its bioinformatics team, the ALCEDIAG laboratory (a subsidiary of ALCEN group) is recruiting a bioinformatics & bioanalysis engineer starting today. The candidate will work within the laboratory’s bioinformatics platform in a multidisciplinary environment, collaborating closely with biologists, computer scientists, and clinicians. The main activities will focus on processing high-throughput sequencing (NGS) data and developing pipelines and scientific applications.

Sys2Diag is a laboratory founded in 2015 through the alliance of two partners with complementary ambitions: the CNRS and the French industrial group ALCEN .
Sys2Diag is an interdisciplinary laboratory (comprising biologists, mathematicians, and computer scientists) that builds on extensive experience in developing breakthrough innovations for medical diagnostics, fundamental research in synthetic and systems biology, and cutting-edge technological platforms (Next Generation Sequencing, clinical proteomics, chemical biosensors, microfluidics, bioinformatics/biostatistics).
Required Profile
You hold a higher education degree (minimum Bac +5) such as an engineering degree, a Master’s, or a PhD in bioinformatics, with at least 3 to 5 years of experience in genomics associated with the development of bioinformatics tools.
Main responsibilities
· Analyze and formalize the needs of laboratory biologists.
· Perform bioinformatics and biostatistical analysis of laboratory data.
· Participate in the design, implementation, encapsulation, testing, and optimization of laboratory data processing pipelines.
· Develop new bioinformatics tools to support emerging laboratory projects.
· Write analysis reports and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for quality control.
· Contribute to the technological and scientific monitoring of the platform.
Required Skills
· In-depth knowledge of biological data processing methods from high-throughput technologies, particularly NGS (RNAseq, epigenomics, etc.).
· Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages among the following: Python, Perl, C, Bash.
· Solid understanding of applied statistics in biology.
· Good programming skills in R.
· Mastery of the Unix/Linux environment.
· Familiarity with a workflow manager (Nextflow) and Docker.
· Knowledge of artificial intelligence would be an asset.
· Familiarity with the latest Web technologies, such as REST APIs, would be a plus.
· Understanding of regulatory requirements for medical device development (IEC 62304, IVDR 2017/746, etc.) would be an advantage.
· Fluent in English.

· Ability to work in a team, particularly in an interdisciplinary environment.
· Rigor, strong analytical and synthesis skills.
· Industrial experience is a plus.
