Join OMINI in Revolutionizing Decentralized Diagnostics

At OMINI, we are on a mission to transform patient care with cutting-edge multiplex blood testing solutions for complex chronic diseases like heart failure. By leveraging organic electrochemical sensing technologies, nanotechnology, and advanced biofunctionalization techniques, we are pushing the boundaries of point-of-care diagnostics.

Supported by the European Innovation Council (EIC), BPI, and industry-leading partners, we are moving towards clinical validation and regulatory approval in both Europe and the US. Our vision is to bring high-quality, decentralized diagnostics to millions, enabling proactive disease management with fast, accessible, and cost-effective testing.

To accelerate our growth, we are looking for an Electrochemical Biosensor Scientist/Engineer to strengthen our R&D team in the development of next-generation in vitro diagnostic (IVD) medical devices.

Your Role

As part of the R&D team, you will focus on developing and optimizing electrochemical biosensors for biomolecule detection. You will contribute to OMINI’s sensor innovation pipeline, working in a dynamic environment at the intersection of electrochemistry, bioelectronics, and materials science.

Key Responsibilities

🔬 Biofunctionalization & Sensor Development

  • Develop and optimize surface functionalization of electrochemical biosensors using antibodies, enzymes, and other biomolecules.
  • Modify electrochemical surfaces using chemical, enzymatic, and polymer-based strategies.
  • Implement and analyze electrochemical sensing techniques for biomarker detection.
  • Design, fabricate, and characterize biosensors, ensuring optimal performance in biological applications.

⚙️ Integration & Collaboration

  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team (electronics, chemistry, biology) to integrate biosensors into portable diagnostic platforms.
  • Contribute to the industrialization process, ensuring sensor performance, reproducibility, and scalability.

📑 Documentation & Innovation

  • Document findings through technical reports and scientific publications.
  • Contribute to patent applications to strengthen OMINI’s IP portfolio.

What We’re Looking For

Education:

  • PhD or Master’s degree in Electrochemistry, Bioelectronics, Materials Science, Nanotechnology, or a related field.

Technical Expertise :

  • Strong experience in biofunctionalization of electrodes (antibodies, enzymes, aptamers).
  • Hands-on expertise in electrochemical sensing techniques (e.g., voltammetry, amperometry, impedance spectroscopy).
  • Knowledge of thin-film deposition, microfabrication, or printed electronics is a plus.

Soft Skills :

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a cross-functional R&D team.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to translate research into scalable solutions.
  • Excellent scientific writing skills in English (publications, technical documentation, patents).
