Overall job definition:

ACC is looking for a Vision System Engineer to join its gigafactory launch team and apply their expertise to cutting-edge cell manufacturing equipment. The candidate will be responsible for developing, optimizing and scaling up machine vision systems that play a critical role in ensuring the quality, efficiency, and precision of our end-to-end cell manufacturing processes. This role demands a strong background in computer vision, image processing, and automation, along with a passion for driving technological innovation in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Your Main Missions will be:

Troubleshooting & optimization

  • Provide technical support for diagnosing and resolving issues related to machine vision systems in a timely manner.
  • Propose improvement and perform upgrades to keep the systems operating at peak performance levels, ensuring high OEE.
  • Generate comprehensive reports and visualizations to communicate system performance and capitalize for future gigafactory launches.

Machine Vision System Development

  • Design and develop machine vision systems tailored to specific cell manufacturing processes, including inspection, measurement, and defect detection.
  • Select appropriate hardware components such as cameras, lighting, lenses, and image sensors to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Develop and implement algorithms for image processing, pattern recognition, and machine learning to extract relevant information from captured images.

System Integration and Automation

  • Integrate potential new machine vision systems into the overall manufacturing workflow, ensuring seamless communication with other automation components and control systems.
  • Develop software interfaces and protocols for real-time data exchange between vision systems and manufacturing equipment.
  • Collaborate with robotics and automation engineers to enable automated decision-making based on vision system outputs.

Calibration and Testing

  • Calibrate and fine-tune vision systems to ensure accuracy, reliability, and consistency in various manufacturing conditions.
  • Conduct rigorous testing and validation of vision systems to ensure they meet specified performance metrics and quality standards.

Profil recherché

Know How:

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, and experience with relevant libraries and frameworks (OpenCV, TensorFlow, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of image processing techniques, computer vision algorithms, and machine learning concepts.
  • Familiarity with hardware components and interfaces commonly used in machine vision systems (cameras, lenses, lighting, GigE, etc.).
  • hands-on experience with robotic systems, automation, and control systems is a plus.Excellent problem-solving skills and a systematic approach to root cause analysis.

Qualification:

-          Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Proven experience (10+ years) in designing and implementing machine vision systems, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

Key behaviour:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
