Within the Operation and Maintenance department, the Electrical Engineer oversees Electrical technical support of solar and wind farms, High Voltage maintenances support, expertise, and on-site inspections.
Main Responsibilities:
Electrical operation:
- Monitor and manage interventions and high voltage maintenance (HV)
- Carry out or remotely support lockout and reclosing HV
- Carry out/support preventive and corrective HV maintenance on Cahors, Schneider, Areva… switchgear
- Diagnose a breakdown and perform the necessary troubleshooting independently on delivery and processing stations, and HV cables
- Diagnose a breakdown and perform the necessary troubleshooting independently on low voltage and SCADA (wind or PV)
- Support grid aspects and compliance with our European portfolio, understand the local design and architecture
- Lead the resolution of any grid or cable issues/outages (internal project grid or external grid)
- Excellent understanding of the perimeter of responsibilities, process of the producer, DSO and TSO in France but also in at least one other European country
On-site intervention and inspection:
- Carry out on-spot support/inspection on our sites in Europe
- Support contractor or internal team during on-site troubleshooting or preventive maintenance
Design and Review:
- Participate in due diligence inspections and review for projects transactions (wind or PV)
- Review of electrical design and manage the adequacy between electrical document and existing infrastructure
- Lead the electrical expertise aspect of any repowering project, technical review and analysis, participation to meetings, provide the necessary inputs to the development department
Support and development of electrical expertise:
- Manage collaboration with suppliers and providers of this field of expertise: comparison and analysis of proposals, stay the main contact
- Provide daily support to operation management teams by identifying possible malfunctions, under-performance, breakage, damage, etc. affecting equipment and their infrastructure; find and explain the causes; propose solutions for improvement, explore avenues for MEC enhancement of existing operational assets
- Participate in the development of a broad expertise on our substation and Wind turbine matters.
- Participation in standards development, joint-industry-projects (JIPs)
- Share knowledge and train local managers on grid management aspects, daily support the supervision team daily if necessary
Implementation of HSE rules:
- Participate in HSE meetings and joint inspection visits
- Ensure the establishment and compliance of the company's HSE procedures
- The position is rare opportunity to work on multiple renewable technology, grid, substation wind/solar farm sizes (from 2MW to 650MW) and based in several countries in Europe.
- The post office is based in La Défense or in Troyes with frequent trips to France and Europe.
Requirements:
- A qualification in Bachelor, engineering school or master’s in electrical engineering with 2/3 years’ experience.
- Recognized for your understanding of the interventions and operation of substations, you are ready to become a key member of the team. You are serious, reactive and have a sense of organization and team spirit.
- A quick learner and willing to solve problem and take guidance well and develop a full understanding of the matter
- Knowledge of applicable standards and recommendations, Electrical knowledge of High Voltage rules NFC13-100 and NFC13-200 or equivalent. DEIE system knowledge, Electrical Diagram, turbine inspections. Possess a full and clean driver’s license (category B)
- Fluent in English & French.
