My client, a biotech company harnessing artificial intelligence to transform the drug discovery and development process with on Oncology are in search for a Senior Bioinformatician with the below responsibilities.
This company have recently had significant funding to bolster their R&D capabilities and there is a real opportunity to grow your career alongside a growing Biotech startup.
Your Mission:
- Developing and managing omics analysis pipelines: Design and implement processing workflows, collaborating with the data engineering team to integrate them into cloud-based infrastructure.
- Advancing computational and omics methodologies
- Ensuring genomic and transcriptomic data integrity: Apply cutting-edge quality control strategies to identify experimental inconsistencies and uphold rigorous data quality standards.
- Enhancing data accessibility: Build user-friendly solutions that facilitate seamless exploration of generated datasets for both internal teams and external collaborators.
This role will come with significant project ownership and full responsibility to set the standards for the company.
You will join the Bioinformatics Team & report into the Lead Computational Biologist.
Your profile:
- Education & Experience: MSc or PhD with at least 4 years of relevant industry or research experience.
- Programming Expertise: Strong proficiency in Python and Bash for bioinformatics workflows.
- Pipeline Development & Automation: Hands-on experience with workflow management systems like Nextflow or Snakemake .
- Bioinformatics Knowledge: Extensive experience with genomics (WGS) and skilled with transcriptomics data analysis, including the use of specialized bioinformatics tools.
- Version Control Proficiency: Strong understanding of Git or other version control systems for collaborative development.
- Cloud Computing: Familiarity with cloud platforms and services for scalable data processing.
- Collaborative Mindset: Comfortable working in an interdisciplinary setting with cell biologists, data scientists, and clinicians.
