Role:

The Head of Post-Merger Integration (PMI) plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless integration of businesses following mergers, acquisitions, or strategic alliances. This position requires strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills to drive complex integration processes and synergy targets achievement and align operations. The Head of PMI works cross-functionally with ExCo members, affiliate leaders and PMI Single Points of Contact (SPOC), at Corporate and entity level, to harmonize organizational structure, systems, cultures, and processes to create value, to ensure successful outcomes for the newly combined organization.

Key Responsibilities

Integration Strategy Development:

Collaborate with senior leadership to define and drive the implementation of a comprehensive post-merger integration strategy, consistently with the acquisition strategy and the affiliate business model.

Drive synergy identification and prioritize initiatives to maximize

business value and minimize business disruption.

Project Management:

Kick-off new integrations with the entity leaders and the PMI Community

Coordinate integration streams: Finance & Procurement, ICT, HR, Operations, Commercial & Marketing, Legal, Quality/QMS.

Consolidate and drive PMI SPOCs detailed integration roadmaps (action items and timelines) and resource allocation to ensure integration milestones are achieved.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Act as the central point of contact between the affiliates and the Corporate SPOCs, fostering collaboration and clear communication.

Build relationships with entity leaders and key stakeholders to align goals and manage expectations.

Operational Alignment

Drive and coordinate the assessment of existing business processes, systems, and organizational structures by the SPOCS, to identify integration requirements and set-up integration roadmaps accordingly

Oversee harmonization of organizational structure, workflows, policies, and procedures across teams.

Communication & Change Management:

Develop and execute communication and change management strategies to support cultural alignment and employee engagement.

Address resistance to change and ensure smooth integration and adoption of new systems and processes.

Risk Mitigation:

Identify potential risks and challenges during the integration process and develop mitigation strategies.

Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

Performance Tracking and Reporting:

Establish metrics to track integration progress and measure success against synergy targets.

Provide regular status updates and detailed reports to senior management and stakeholders.

Continuous improvement:

Continuously improve PMI tools and methodology

Requisites:

Master of Science’s degree (preferred to Bachelor’s degree) in Business Administration, Finance or Science.

7 years of experience in post-merger integration, program management, and/or M&A environments. With at least 3-5 years consultant experience (Big 4 appreciated).

Proven track record of successfully managing complex integration projects.

Experience working across global or multi-cultural teams is an advantage.

Pharma industry knowledge (as nice to have)
