About the Role
Our client is looking for a senior surveyor to join their certification of materials and components team in France. This role will be crucial in ensuring compliance with international classification standards and regulatory frameworks while working closely with clients across shipbuilding, offshore, and industrial sectors.
This role involves:
- Certification and verification of materials and components for vessels and offshore installations
- Auditing and compliance assessments under class and non-class-related systems (ISO 9001, MED)
- Providing expert advice to customers, guiding them through regulatory frameworks and industry standards
- Liaising with shipyards, manufacturers, and global colleagues to oversee quality assurance processes
- Working closely with technical teams to support digital transformation, including remote inspections and electronic certifications
- Frequent travel within France and Belgium to conduct inspections and audits
About You
- A master’s or bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or marine engineering (or a relevant discipline)
- 8-10+ years of experience in the maritime and/or offshore industry
- Strong understanding of material and component certification, with experience in ship surveys, classification, and compliance assessments
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, MED, and international classification standards
- Familiarity with electrical and control & monitoring systems is an advantage
- Excellent English communication skills (French language skills are preferred)
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel frequently within France and Belgium
- A customer-focused approach, with the ability to build strong relationships and provide technical guidance
