Startup Engineer

Role: As a start-up engineer, you will be involved in the final phase of projects, ensuring precommissioning and commissioning of units across Europe and occasionally worldwide. Technologies include cryogenic units, Lurgi units, and electrolyzers.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure safety in collaboration with HSE and site managers.
- Prepare, supervise, and carry out precommissioning and commissioning activities.
- Monitor and control activities by partners (subcontractors and suppliers).
- Solve technical problems related to your scope.
- Start up production units and tune them for performance testing and customer delivery.
Potential Role: Start-Up Site Manager
- Develop execution concepts based on contractual documents and project specifics.
- Plan and manage mobilization of start-up staff and suppliers.
- Guide and control precommissioning and commissioning activities with a focus on safety, quality, and deadlines.
- Ensure daily work complies with procedures, standards, and specifications.
- Organize coordination meetings to identify and anticipate problems.
- Report events or risks affecting safety and unit performance.
- Act as the main point of contact for the project team, design office, local customer, subcontractors, and site suppliers.
Requirements:
- Minimum Bac +2.
- 5-10 years of experience as a start-up supervisor/site manager in the chemical or petrochemical industry.
- Familiarity with safety and quality standards.
- Willingness to travel regularly for assignments.
- Flexible, autonomous, proactive, results-oriented, and collaborative.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of cryogenics or process engineering is a plus.
- Fluent in English.
