About the job
The Messaging & Queuing team is designing a … well… a messaging and queuing platform. This service aims at simplifying interactions between applications.
Reporting to your Engineering manager, you and your teammates will be in charge of designing, implementing, and operating the following items:
a core messaging service based on proven open-source software
multiple protocol gateways to provide our customers with seamless compatibility with widely used standards
You can also play a key part in promoting this product to our customers and Scaleway’s other Product teams in order to strengthen our ecosystem.
Minimum qualifications
Ability to quickly learn new concepts and technologies. If you can tick this item, the rest is basically a matter of formality 🙂
Experience as a backend DevOps (preferably Go)
Experience with popular messaging systems: SNS/SQS, Google PubSub, Kafka, RabbitMQ, NATS, etc.
Comfortable with Agile environments
Good command of English
Preferred qualifications
Knowledge of the major public cloud providers’ ecosystems
Ability to contribute to a GitOps based project, including CI/CD
Knowledge of container-based orchestration (Kubernetes, etc)
Knowledge of Infrastructure As Code tooling (Terraform, etc)
Good command of French would be a plus
Responsibilities
Collaboratively designing product architectures and components
Developing product components
Reviewing your teammates’ code
Deploying and monitoring the product
Giving feedback to your Engineering manager and Product manager to influence the product roadmap
Communicating with other Scaleway teams to resolve dependencies
Location
This position is based in our offices in Paris or Lille, 3 days of remote per week
On average our process lasts 2-3 weeks and offers usually follow within 48 hours 🤞
