Postdoctoral Position in Theoretical Particle Physics
Inspire
Paris
Job description:The particle physics and cosmology group of the Laboratoire de Physique Théorique et Hautes Energies (LPTHE) in Paris (Sorbonne U.) offers a 3-year postdoctoral position starting in Fall 2024 to work on QCD and collider phenomenology. The position is funded by the ERC StG BOSON.
The successful candidate, under the supervision of Dr. Hua-Sheng Shao, is expected to work on precision calculations, event generators for heavy quarkonium, and the relevant collider phenomenology. The group now has 3 postdocs. Candidates with experience on higher order calculations, parton showers, event generators, quarkonium, or collider phenomenology are particularly encouraged to apply.
The salary is fixed by the French law, depending on the research experience. The position will benefit from comfortable travel funding provided by the ERC grant, by CNRS and by several bilateral agreements.
The eligible candidates must hold PhD degrees in Physics (or expected to hold before the recruitment). Applicants should send their applications including a Curriculum Vitae, a list of publications, a research statement, a cover letter, and three letters of recommendation via the AJO website (https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/26201).
For a full consideration, applications should be received by December 15, 2023. Late applications will be accepted until the position is filled. We will pay attention to equal opportunities.
