Lead 3D Character Artist

Our client is a video game development and publishing studio, specialising in Tactical RPGs based in Paris, France.
We are partnering with them in their search for a Lead 3D Character Artist to join their team and participate in their expansion.
Reporting directly to the Art Director, your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing production guidelines for characters and creatures, ensuring smooth collaboration with both internal and external teams.
- Creating high-quality character and creature models (high- and low-poly) and textures (UV mapping, baking, and texture creation) based on concept art, while adhering to the artistic direction and technical constraints defined during pre-production.
- Leading and mentoring 3D Character Artists, providing expertise to maintain consistent, top-tier quality across all models.
- Collaborating closely with the Lead Animator to ensure seamless model integration into animations.
- Conducting quality checks on externally produced models, validating each stage of production to ensure they meet the studio’s standards.

What We’re Looking For:
- A minimum of 7 years of experience as a 3D Character Artist within video game development.
- Proficiency with ZBrush and Substance Painter, as well as basic knowledge of Unreal Engine 5.
- A passion for medieval and fantasy-themed worlds.
- Fluency in French.
Bonus Skills:
- Fluency in English.
- Experience with Character Creator software.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, autonomy, and the ability to take initiative. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are a must.
- Familiarity with role-playing games, especially Dungeons & Dragons , and a great sense of humor.
